Giorgio Serci nylon string guitar

Allison Miller drums
Giorgio is a young, talented guitarist whose mastery of the guitar is evident in this debut release on The Naim Label.
Featuring mainly self-penned tracks and Giorgio’s own arrangements of “Frere Jacques” and “Moon River”, New York Sessions is a beautiful sounding album from a polished jazz quartet, which includes Harvie Swartz, Virginia Mayhew and Allison Miller.
Giorgio’s name may be familiar to some for his collaboration as guitarist, composer and arranger with Antonio Forcione. Giorgio, indeed, appeared on “Touch Wood”, Antonio’s last album for label which includes Giorgio’s composition “Watercolour” and his arrangement of Astor Piazzolla’s “Tango Suite/Libertango”.
Giorgio is from Sardinia, and started to play the guitar at the age of thirteen. He studied classical guitar with Marco Meloni and jazz with John Scofield and John Surman, amongst others. He has played with a number of well respected musicians including Shirley Bassey, Andy Sheppard and Julian Lloyd Webber to name a few. Harvie Swartz is perhaps best known for his series of duet recordings and performances with singer Sheila Jordan.
